Receiving letters and parcels

Below you will find information regarding how to receive letters or larger parcels.

Receive a letter or parcel

Postcards and letters will be delivered to the recipient's letterbox. Parcels too large to fit in the letterbox, will need to be picked up at a "Postens ombud", which is a grocery store or corner store that has been selected to provide postal services.

When a parcel too large to fit the letterbox arrives at "Postens ombud", a notice is sent out to the recipient with information on where to go to pick up the parcel. There are some tracking services available at Posten's website should you want to follow the delivery process of your parcel.

Depending on the mail service chosen by the sender, the parcel might be delivered at the recipient's home. Please note that LU Accommodation does not have any employees (a concierge or a reception desk) allocated at the housing areas, meaning that the tenant will need to be at home to receive the delivery.

If you order items by other postal services (FedEx, UPS, DHL etc.) it is important to make sure that they have your phonenumber since many housingarea do not have codes you can give out to these services. Most probably you will have to collect the packages at certain pick-up stations in ther city where you live.

  • Please note that LU Accommodation is not able to receive or store any parcels or luggage arriving before the start of the housing contract.

Name tag on your letterbox

If your name is not stated on the letterbox, your mail may not be delivered, even though the adress is correct. A name tag will be given together with your keys. Please find your letterbox and place the name tag on it.

Post to the previous tenant?

If you happen to receive a letter or package for a previous tenant we kindly ask that you write "return to sender" or "åter avsändare" on the envelope or package. You can then put it in one of the yellow postboxes which you will find around the city. LU Accommodation cannot store or forward any post.
